This article mentioned that most of the people see alcohol abuse as a more serious problem as compared to drugs abuse, and there's about 58% feel alcohol misuse is more serious social problem. The article also mentioned that twice as many people is dependent on alcoholic drinks.
The problem about alcoholic drinks, is the fact that many people regard alcoholic drinks as a casual drinks and that since alcoholic drinks are legal drugs that they would take drinking of alcohol as an acceptable behavior since it's not against the law and since it's legal
In reality, the action of drinking alcoholic drink is still considered as an abused, especially if consumed in a large quantity, this would mean that even if alcohol is considered as a legal drugs, that this kind of abuse is still as bad, if not worse.
The problem is, that alcoholic drinks is as dangerous as drugs. Even while the effect is less lethal, it doesn't change the fact that it's not a healthy food for human body. And the effect of alcohol could also lethal for it's consumer that included obesity, addiction, heart disease, and the most lethal is of course death. From there we could see that alcohol is actually no better than drugs.
The biggest problem about alcohol is that it's very easy to find an alcoholic drinks. Since alcohol is not considered illegal, shop could just sell it freely and the consumer could easily bought it. That's the reason why alcohol is actually more dangerous than drugs on it's impact on society.
Another problem is of course the fact that alcohol is a lot cheaper and easy to find. Many people taught that alcohol is actually safe and harmless. This is the main reason on why we should put stop or at least reduce the usage of alcohol and make the law stricter. As the article said alcohol has cause a lot of trouble in society as well. An obvious example would be the welfare of the state and the life of the family that were related to the addicted person. Another problem is the increasing crime rate including robber, murder, rape cases, and many others. So we could say that alcohol might be even worse as compared to drugs.So finally, from what i think, alcohol is not any better than drugs and the impact could be even worse. Government should try to limit the traffic of drugs and make a stricter law for alcohol abuse. By doing this not only the life of the people would be safer, but crime and health rate of the people could become better.
